As some of you might know from my Facebook postings, I’ve spent my weekend mostly in Geneva.
Back in Vienna after a great weekend in Switzerland, I am taking advantage of my luggage being lost to make a post instead of unpacking. To my surprise, Austrian Airlines managed to lose all the bags on a direct flight. They never bothered to put the passengers’ bags on the plane, nor did they make any announcement about the bags being left behind and so, after two hours of waiting at the belt we declared the luggage lost. The excuse? The captain has decided that the plane was too heavy and so there must be not a gram extra on the plane. Whatever.
Despite this minor detail, we had an amazing weekend in Geneva and Lausanne with some of our friends. I spent my entire Friday in Lausanne, at the Palace, sipping on good coffee and catching up with one of my dearest friends – I met him while studying there, thirteen years ago.
Saturday and Sunday were perfect, sunny and not too cold and walked all over Geneva, did a bit of shopping and went to Vertig’O for dinner. How did you guys spend your weekend?
This time in Geneva we chose the Kempinski hotel, which was great.
What I liked most about Kempinski was the huge bed, which was almost as big as the bedroom.
Happy Monday,
Dea

Sounds like you had a wonderful time in Switzerland
Good for you
!

It’s been ages ago that I’ve been to Lausanne – had lovely times there. Geneva I always went to for the Automobile Salon, which is up shortly again. And then Raclette…every time I went to Geneva…absolutely the best there
What’s in the bag
Don’t worry about the luggage – this way THEY have to drag it to your doorsteps, not you. Hope you have a good insurance? Have a lovely evening
Ah, the raclette!! I bought the little stove for here, as I absolutely love it as well! In the bag…we’ll see soon!
Happy evening! xx
DELICIOUS! Enjoy! It will stink up your place badly, but it is so, so good!
Haha, yes, that’s so true!
hope you had a nice time ! I cant believe all the luggage was left in geneva… how strange. I had a 20 hour trip from montreal… delays due to snowstorms in montreal and zurich.
